Karen decided to set up Bright Spark Electrical Services 10 year ago now, she was aware of a large gap in the domestic market and seized an opportunity. As an electrician with 15 years of experience, it was frustrating to see such a lack of care and attention to electrical work being carried out in people’s home. It is therefore her, and her team’s, goal to provide a comprehensive electrical service that is friendly, efficient and geared towards helping homeowners and small businesses in the West Kent, East Sussex and South-East London area.
Throughout 2017, Bright Spark was registered as a ‘Domestic Installer’ with the NICEIC, Karen saw the benefit of this with her business growing and gaining continual trust and credibility from customers. Moving forward from this, at the beginning of this year, Bright Spark was awarded the NICEIC ‘Approved Contractor Status’, not only covering domestic installation, but also commercial work such as businesses, offices and communal areas in block management. Contractors who become registered with the NICEIC do so as a result of inspections from NICEIC, which also greatly benefit the company.
The inspections the NICEIC conduct are extremely thorough, stringent and really test an electrician’s electrical knowledge. Karen believes this is another great reason why domestic customers should always use a registered technician as they will always have a safe standard of work. In addition to this, all electrical work carried out by Bright Spark has a 6-year warranty, further backed by the NICEIC.

What is really great about Bright Spark Electrical is that they communicate well and get the job done precisely exactly as agreed and bang on time. I would highly recommend Karen and her team for any electrical jobs you have. From the moment I first emailed my enquiry the service was super quick (I appreciate this depends on their other jobs at the time). We received a quote that was clear with the works to be done and price was reasonable. On the day the electrician (Joe I believe) turned up on time, did a fab job and even tidied up after himself. The old ceiling lights we had were a little tricky to get off and pulled some of the plaster off too, but he filled it in and made it as good as new.Great job from beginning to end.
